What is ESD?

Electrostatic discharge (ESD) is a hidden threat in many industries. In production areas where electronic devices are assembled or repaired, even a small static charge can damage sensitive components. The same applies to sectors like food processing and healthcare, where ESD can disrupt operations or compromise product integrity.

To mitigate these risks, it’s essential to establish an EPA (Electrostatic Protective Area). This controlled zone is designed to neutralize static electricity and protect equipment and personnel. Studies show that up to 40–50% of electronic failures during manufacturing are caused by the absence of a properly implemented EPA.

ESD-Safe Workbenches standard across our entire range

All our workbenches are engineered to meet ESD safety requirements, making them suitable for use in EPA zones and environments where electrostatic discharge poses a risk. Whether you’re working in electronics, healthcare, or precision manufacturing, ESD protection is built in,  not optional.

Key features:

  • Fully compliant with EN 61340-5-1:2016 standards

  • Surface, point-to-point, and volume resistance between 10⁶ and 10⁸ Ω

  • Consistent performance across varying humidity levels

  • Suitable for assembly, repair, inspection, and cleanroom applications

Certified ESD performance for safe workspaces

All our workbenches meet the EN 61340-5-1:2016 standard for ESD safety, with tested surface, point-to-point, and volume resistance values between 10⁶ and 10⁸ Ω. Even under varying humidity conditions. This ensures reliable protection in EPA zones and supports safe assembly, repair, and handling of sensitive electronics.
